A solar tracker can maximize the power output from the solar panels, tracking the sun and keeping the panels aligned. It's been estimated that the yield can be increased form 30 to 60 percent by using a tracking system. This circuit implements a low cost automatic tracking system with a unipolar step motor driven by a PIC16F877 with four darlington transistors.

This mixer is usable for frequencies around 500Mhz. Discrete transistors mixers require the matching of the transistors' characteristics. This issue is overcome by applying a bit of feedback through emitter resistors. The base are driven with LO signal from a balun transformer. This mixer exhibits a conversion loss of 6dB and 15 to 17dBm of LO drive power.
