  • Buffering a Precision Operational Amplifier

Created by TINADesigner, published on 11-04-2013

Driving a load impedance with a precision operational amplifier reduces its features, as the offset voltage, bias current, drift etc. In this simulation a buffer amplifier is placed between the precision amplifier and its load. In this way the precision amplifier maintains its features and the buffer has the task of driving the load. Click here to analyze this circuit on-line with TINACloud.

  • Zoom Amplifier

Created by TINADesigner, published on 13-02-2013

this circuit uses a precision low power instrumentation amplifier INA128 to amplify a small AC signal superimposed on a much larger DC voltage. When the switch is closed both inputs see the same AC+DC level and the high common mode rejection gives a zero output voltage. When the switch is open the AC signal is applied to only the inverting input, while to the not inverting input is applied the DC level stored on a high insulation resistance dielectric capacitor.

  • Bootstrapped Input For High Impedance

Created by TINADesigner, published on 03-01-2013

Bootstrapping involves the use of a small amount of positive feedback from output to input of an amplifier, of nearly unity gain. The bootstrap technique is used to make a low value input resistor, R3 in this case, appear to have a much higher value as seen by the input signal. Without feedback the input resistance is R3 (1M) in parallel with the input resistance of U1 (1E13 ohms).Positive feedback applied through the voltage divider R1- R2 multiplies the effective input impedance of R3.Adding bootstrapping also increases the noise gain of the op amp, multiplying its Vos, drift, and noise. Adding a LARGE capacitor in series with R1 can eliminate the amplified DC offset and drift but the low frequency noise will still suffer.

  • Operational Amplifier as Differential Amplifier

Created by NiMultisimDesigner, published on 19-12-2012

the operational amplifier AD822AN with dual power supply +-12V works as differential amplifier. The ratio R2/R1 must be equal to R4/R3.A mismatch determines the common mode rejection capability of the circuit. The gain of amplifier is R2/R1.

  • LTspice Modeling of Universal Operational Amplifier

Created by LTspiceDesigner, published on 11-09-2012

LTspice model with 4 levels of accuracy of the description of an operational amplifier. The first level models a linear single pole opamp with no slew rate or output voltage range limit. The second level introduces the slew rate and output voltage and current limit. The third level is a two pole with programable phase margin and the fourth level shows a dominant pole.

  • Load Cancellation Circuit

Created by TINADesigner, published on 09-12-2011

The next stage of a voltage follower op amp, is a second op amplifier that implements a load cancellation circuit. The output current of first op amp is a function of its input voltage Vin and its load resistance RL.For example when Vin = 1V, AM1 (U1 output) and AMload (load current) = -1mA. The cancellation circuit provides all or part of this current. With compensation adjusted for 100%, the load current is furnished entirely by the compensation circuit. Thus the output of U1 essentially sees an "open circuit". Rc controls the degree of load current compensation.

  • Window Comparator

Created by EDWin2011, published on 31-10-2011

Two operational amplifier with double power supply +/-15V implements a window comparator. Once fixed two voltages, for example with two potentiometers, the output is low when the input voltage ranges between these voltages, and the output go high when the input voltage is out of this range.
